The
Southington
Boys
Program will be held at
Walter
Derynoski
Elementary
School,
240 Main
Street,
Southington,
CT
06489.
It
begins
September
13th
and
runs
through
October
25th.
The
groups
are
split
by
age
and
within age by ability using a station training approach
to
ensure
that
skills
are
fully
attained.
Half
of
each
session
is
skill
development,
and
the
balance
is
in
small
sided
games
to
utilize
the
skills
being
taught.
Group
schedules are: Boys Grades 5-9 - 9am
to
11:00 am
Boys
Grades
10-12
will
train
from 11:00
to 1pm..
Boys should
bring
and mouthpieces (required),
pads,
stick,
and water.
Email is
used to
communicate
reminders,
schedule
changes,
or
weather
related
information.

Darryl Delia
Program
Director
|
Daryl Delia, Assistant Coach formerly coach at Yale and Fairfield Universities, leads the Southington Program.
He was the
interim head coach at Yale in 2003 and recorded
a 9-5 record. He served as the head assistant
coach at Yale from 1998 to 2002, where his
responsibilities including coordinating
recruiting activities for the program. He was
also the team's offensive coordinator, and was
responsible for the planning and implementing of
off-season workouts for the team. Under his
guidance, Yale received back-to-back honors as
one of the top-10 offensive teams in the
country.

Delia was the head lacrosse coach at Guilford high
School from 1996 to 1997. He also assisted
the boys' lacrosse program at Hamden Hall
High School from 1994 to 1995. He served
East Haven High School as head wrestling
coach from 1993 to 2003, in which time he
registered a 187-59 record and earned
Southern Connecticut Conference Wrestling
Coach of the Year honors in 1999.
Delia is the president of the Nutmeg Sports Camps, a
position he has held since 2000. He is
the director of the Run & Shoot Lacrosse
Camp, and is a certified U.S.
Progression Lacrosse Inc. Instructor.

Ryan Vilar
Ryan Vilar, currently playing professional lacrosse
for
the
Boston
Cannons
after
being
drafted
by
the
Philadelphia
Barrage.
Ryan
was
a
standout
midfielder
at
powerhouse
Hofstra,
a
U19
team
tryout
candidate,
a
North-south
All
Star
team
selection,
whose
acdemic
training
in
speed
and
weight
training
will
offer
an
additional
level
of
expertise
to
aspiring
student
athletes.

Eric Fekete is entering his 8th year as Head Coach at Quinnipiac University. .
Fekete served as President of the New
England Intercollegiate Lacrosse
Association.
The NEILA is the major body of New England Collegiate
Lacrosse covering the Division I, II, and III levels.
The NEILA is responsible for recognizing the All New
England Selection Team and the All-New England Academic
Team.
During Fekete's first season with the Bobcats,
Quinnipiac advanced to the semifinals of the America
East tournament, where it lost to eventual champion
Albany. Fekete came to Quinnipiac after serving seven
seasons as an assistant coach, the last five at
Fairfield University. Fekete also spent the 1996 season
as an assistant at nationally-ranked Brown University. Before his arrival at Fairfield, Fekete spent one
year as an assistant at Brown University. In 1996, the
Bears ranked in the top-ten nationally and finished with
a final 7-6 record, including a 3-3 mark in the Ivy
League.
Fekete gained additional experience in 1994 when he
coached the United State Under-19 team at the 1994 World
Lacrosse Games Festival in Manchester, England. From
1992-1995, he was the head boy's varsity lacrosse coach
at Duxbury (Mass.) High School, leading the school to
four consecutive MIAA tournament berths.
Fekete got his start in collegiate coaching in 1989,
serving three seasons on the staff at the University of
Arizona. |
Jon Basti
Coach Basti recently was
appointed as the top assistant men's
lacrosse coach at Lafayette College.
For the past three seasons, he
served as an assistant at Fairfield
University in his second stint with
the Stags.
Involved in day-to-day operations
of the program, Basti worked as
assistant offensive coordinator,
while overseeing the face-off men
and game tape breakdown.
Prior to Fairfield, Basti served
as the head coach at Eastern
Connecticut State University from
2002 to 2004. While directing the
Warriors, Basti posted a 22-9 career
record while winning two Little East
Conference Championships and two
NCAA Tournament berths.
He also worked as an assistant
coach at Sacred Heart University,
where he was in charge of face-offs
and the defensive unit from 2000 to
2002.
Basti graduated from Fairfield in
1999 with a double-major, Politics
and History.

Bruce Frady is an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Quinnipiac University.Frady works with the Bobcats defensive unit and goalies while helping with the recruiting process.
Frady joined the Quinnipiac staff after stints at Fairfield University and Eastern Connecticut State University. He spent the 2004-05 year with the Stags where he also worked with the goalies and defensive unit.
The year prior, Frady served as an assistant at ECSU. On the field, he worked primarily with the defense, while also completing various administrative duties off the field.
Frady played for three seasons at ECSU as a goaltender before turning to the coaching ranks. He has also served as the co-director of the All-Star development camp, assistant director of the Blue Chip Lacrosse camp and as a staff member at several other camps including: Nutmeg Lacrosse, Army Lacrosse, World Class Lacrosse, Princeton Lacrosse and the Players Choice camp.
Frady is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a BA in Communications. |
